Associate Director of Development and External Affairs

Kaitlin has over 10 years of experience working in the non-profit sector and brings her fundraising knowledge to Rise Up from her previous roles as a fundraising consultant in Australia and Senior Development Associate at Save the Bay in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences with a concentration in Cross Cultural Studies and International Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. As Associate Director of Development and Communications, Kaitlin oversees Rise Up’s institutional development portfolio and grant writing, communications and partnerships, and supports the Rise Up Leadership Council. She leverages the organization’s impactful work to funders and donors to grow Rise Up’s foundation and corporate partners.

Kaitlin grew up in the Bay Area and has a passion for traveling and learning about different cultures and regions around the world. Kaitlin’s past volunteer experience in Malawi, the Dominican Republic and her leadership with Thousand Currents’ (formerly IDEX) Young Professionals Group has fueled her desire to empower women and girls to transform their own lives, communities, and countries. In her spare time Kaitlin enjoys adventuring outdoors – trail running, skiing, and backpacking.
